Ben Garrett, Executive Producer - On the Scene Productions

Ben Garrett is an award-winning health producer with more than 28 years of experience in broadcast public relations, and an innovator in health care communications on the Web. He currently serves on the board of the PRSA Health Academy and is cochair of the 2009 PRSA Health Academy Meeting in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Garrett helped develop the first medical Web site on MSN and in 1996, he produced the largest medical Webcast, with more than 15,000 simultaneous participants from the FDA Approval of “Rilutek” and one of the first Web chats ever from Harvard Medical School. He has turned his focus to social media applications, pioneering streaming video campaigns on outlets like YouTube and MySpaceTV, as well as original Webisodes and Second Life development. Over his many years in the business his stellar list of health care clients has included the Lance Armstrong Foundation, American Heart Association, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), U.S. Surgeon General, American Diabetes Association, NASA, U.S. Olympic Committee, American Medical Association, National Jewish Medical and Research Center, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Novartis, GlaxoSmithKline and others. Mr. Garrett was an early pioneer of hospital-based live remote satellite continuing medical education programming, having produced a dozen major hospital CMS events for the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association.

Sten McKinzie, President - Erickson Multimedia Studios, Inc.

Sten McKinzie is an award-winning Web developer, graphic designer and animator with more than 16 years of experience. McKinzie currently serves as President of Erickson Multimedia Studios, a Bolingbrook, Illinois-based animation and Web design facility. Erickson Multimedia is behind cutting-edge consumer health Web sites and has developed Second Life Web sites for clients such as the Alliance for Consumer Education. Previously, McKinzie served as President of S10 Media and was honored with the Guiding Star of Leadership Award for his development of the HealthAnswers.com consumer Web site. In additional to his work at HealthAnswers, he was head of the multimedia department for Orbis Broadcast Group, one of the largest video production companies in the Midwest. At Orbis, he won multiple awards for his animated PSA for the American Academy of Neurology entitled “Stroke is a Brain Attack.”
